App #13 : Name Mangler
Name Mangler is a very simple app that will let you rename files in batch. It is perfect to rename tons of photos from your digital camera if you don’t want all of them to be called names like DCS0002.jpg. It let you add a prefix, or a suffix or numbers to the filename. This is a handy little utility. Thanks for that one. I have used Adobe’s Bridge to do the same but this is a lightweight application that works just as well.

You are right Niraj. I didn’t realize it was now $10 to get the full version. It used to be entirely free. If you have many files to rename in batch, it is a great little utility. I will try to find if there is a free equivalent and post it on the blog.
