App #4 : Flash Player plugin
If there is a plugin you absolutely need on your computer, it is the Flash Player. There is so much Flash content on the Internet, that not having the flash player will prevent you from viewing a lot of content on websites. It is quick and very easy to install and will integrate with your web browsers. Download Flash Player.

As a new Mac user, I was surprised when I message popped up during installation asking me to close ‘Dashboard’. I had already closed my web browser as it asked, but it would not install unless I closed Dashboard. I figured out what Dashboard was, I think I used it once before, and for some reason it does not show up in the Dock. And there isn’t any obvious way to quit it. The solution was to open Dashboard (F4 on MacBook) and close all the Widgets. Then I could install Flash Player.
