Now that you have all the list of the 30 macs applications that you should install on any new Macs and you also have my backup strategy using a Drobo and Mozy Unlimited Backup or Mozy Online Backup – 2GB Free, I have decided to include another section on this website about Windows and Mac equivalents.
This article is designed for switchers from a Windows world to the Mac world. When I first did the switch, I had question like how will I be able to open WordPerfect files on my Mac. Will I be able to access MSN and IRC. Obviously, the answer is “yes” to most of these questions, but for a newcomer in the world of Macs, it is not always easy to know what applications are equivalents. Now be careful, when I say equivalent, I do not mean they are the same. Sometimes, the Windows version is more powerful and sometimes the Mac version has more features. This is just intended as a quick guide to help you go in the right direction. Please feel free to include some comments if you have other ideas of Win-Mac equivalents that I should add to the list.
